A loaf that sticks in the corners, or a tin that twists out of shape in a hot oven, is usually the tin's fault rather than yours. Our loaf tins are heavy-gauge carbon steel with a non-stick coating made without PTFE or PFOA, so the loaf turns out clean and the tin stays flat.

1lb or 2lb?
The 2lb tin is the one a UK recipe means when it simply says "a loaf tin": about 25cm long, holding 1.5 litres, and the right size for a 500g bread mix. The 1lb tin is about 19cm and 0.8 litres, for tea loaves, smaller cakes, and most air fryer baskets. If you're not sure which your recipes call for, our guide to loaf tin sizes has both in cm, inches, and litres.

Singles, pairs, and sets
Each size comes on its own or as a matched pair, so two loaves bake side by side and come out the same colour. The 1lb and 2lb set covers every UK recipe in one purchase, and the four-piece set (two of each) is for kitchens that bake bread every week and freeze the spare.
Why the weight matters
Thin tins heat unevenly, so the crust browns dark on one side and pale on the other, and they tend to warp after a few hot bakes. Heavier steel spreads the heat and holds its shape, which is why every tin carries our 10-year guarantee. For more on materials and gauge, our best loaf tin UK guide goes into the detail.
